Under the direction of Residential Supervisor and Residential Programs Manager, The Residential Supported Independent Living Worker (SIL Worker) is a professional who is responsible for the wellbeing of people living with different physical abilities and mental health needs. Their role is to support clients to live their lives more independently and support them to reach their potential by providing both physical and emotional support. As each person has unique needs, the roles and responsibilities of a support worker can vary significantly. The primary responsibility of the position is to respond to, and work with persons therapeutically to effect positive behavioral change, building self-esteem and life skills in a residential setting. The incumbent also works closely with other community agencies and resources to provide and coordinate services that enable residence to live as independently as possible
