A day in the Life
Technical Responsibilities
Project duties:
- During design and start-up of new production line: leads operational readiness in manufacturing including material management, cleanroom readiness, training, compliance
- Participates in Technology Transfer of new products
- Supports CVQ, PQ, Process Validation execution
Operational duties:
- Is responsible for the daily support of manufacturing, including compliance, KPI, scheduling, material management, change controls, investigation, CAPA, etc
- Leads and develops Manufacturing Excellence in order to run robustly and smoothly
- Ensures appropriate succession planning
- Participates in defining robust process parameters during routine manufacturing campaigns
- Builds cross functional teams and interacts with other support functions such as Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, and other relevant functional areas
Quality
- Ensures implementation of and adherence to current GMP rules, Quality policies, procedures and instructions for their area of responsibility.
- Ensures contribution to continuous quality improvement initiatives and deviation reporting and follow-up.
EHSS
- Implements and adheres to EHSS legal requirements, rules, policies, procedures and instructions for their area of responsibility.
- Contributes to EHSS initiatives and issues as well as near miss reporting and follow-up.
Leadership
- Commits to Thermo Fisher Scientific values and adherence to ethics and legal compliance standards.
- Takes personal accountability for their presence, performance, and efficiency for the achievement of defined objectives.

Keys to Success
Education
- Bachelor/Master in Chemistry / Biochemistry / Biology / Food Science
- Language: English, German is a plus
Experience
- 7+ years successful experience in pharmaceuticals operations in a GMP relevant environment
- The function requires experience in biotech processes, sterile processes, single use equipment handling, CIP/SIP processes as well as budget competence
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- A first experience in single use technology is a significant advantage
- Experience in matrix leadership
Physical Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 15%
- On-call duties is expected (about 1 weekend per month)
